Art students of all grades took a field trip to Kansas City, visiting the Kemper museum, the Nelson Museum, and the Kansas City Art Institute. The students also walked around Kansas City, drank coffee, and enjoyed the fun little shops and neat architecture. Sophomore, Alanah Malone, said that this was “definitely a good place to be.”
Students went on this art trip to get a feel for colleges and entrance requirements. They took their art and photos to receive feedback and constructive criticism at the Art Institute. Going on the art field trip, they learned a lot about styles of whatever the subject they may be interested in.
There was one part of the art trip where everybody got to run through a glass maze at night; “Best moment ever” said Malone. Everyone on the field trip played tricks on each other while they went through it. “You could see your friends at the end as you entered and they couldn’t tell that there was glass between the two of us,” said Malone.
Malone said that the experience was a good one to have and the people she was surrounded by were so awesome and passionate about the same things.
