Chalk the Walk is an event that takes place the first weekend in May in Mount Vernon, Iowa. Children, students, and adults take the time to create their own piece or add to the community project every year. Many people see Chalk the Walk as a way to express themselves through art while others simply seek to enjoy an afternoon uptown. We created a video showcasing the 12th annual Chalk the Walk that includes a few of the current Mount Vernon high school artists such as Jake Panos, Connor Meyers, Kate Margheim, Haley Krob, Rachel Lochner, Sydney Ulch, and Ashley Grice along with high school alumni Laura Player and Bryce Cox.
