As the date of the performance grows closer, the cast and crew are working harder than ever to perfect Les Mis. Meeting nearly every night for several hours, the cast and crew run through scenes multiple times and sing the songs constantly

“This is definitely the biggest show we’ve done,” director Tom Stephens said, “there’s a big crew, big cast, big set. The students will really enjoy it.” The musical is about a prisoner who is released from jail and tries to have a fresh start, but an officer relentlessly pursues him. The entire show is sung, there are no speaking parts, and it takes place during the French Revolution.

“I’ve always loved the theater and Les Mis is my favorite,” sophomore Cassie Kaminsky said “the music gives me chills everytime I listen to it.”

“The music is my favorite because it’s the kind of music that makes you feel the emotion on stage,” Stephens said, “the best part about directing is seeing one of my favorite shows come to life on stage.”

Tickets will be in the high school office or at the door of the show, $5 for students and $10 for adults. You can see the performance on April 17th at 2:00 or April 16th, 22nd, and 23rd at 7:00.
