UPDATE-The Men’s Quartet Won the Iowa Games Contest

UPDATE May 2, 2012- The MVHS Men’s Quartet won s contest to perform the National Anthem at the Iowa Games opening ceremony July 13 in Ames and at an Iowa Cubs game on July 16. The members of the quartet are Zak Moran, Brandon Douglas, Micah Russell, and Seamus Taylor. The voting among five finalists was based on the number of “likes” of Facebook, as well as the survey votes. Out of a total of 5,471 votes, the MVHS Men’s Quartet received 1,860. Others competing were Allison Te Slaa (1,717), Jacob Mason (1,262, Kate Pomerenke (499) and Rochelle Clark (133).

A panel of judges has chosen the MV Boys’ Quartet one of five finalists in the Iowa Games 2012 National Anthem Contest! The winner is determined by the number of people on Facebook who “like” the MV Quartet between today and Sunday, April 29.
