Boys Bounce Back to Become 2A State Champs!

What a way to start spring break! Down 28-17 at the half, and trailing most of the game, the Mustangs kicked in gear for the second half of the game. Will Teubel scored two in a row, finally tying the game 38-38, with 5:41 left to play. Jack Keleher, all-team tournament player, was on fire, scoring 10 points in the second half. All-tournament captain Jake Timm sunk three of four free throws in the final seconds of the game. The team’s high scorer was Micah Russell, with 19 points in the game. Mustangs won, 48-45. It is the first state championship for boys basketball since 1973.
