The Mount Vernon-Lisbon boys’ and girls’ cross country teams competed at Solon on Thurs. Oct. 19 in the state-qualifying meet. The girls’ team placed eighth overall with sophomore Aubrey Frey punching her ticket to state as an individual runner. Frey finished 15th in the class 3A girls meet with a time of 20:26. The boys’ placed first at the district meet with a total of 62 team points, qualifying them for the state meet. Frey and the boys’ will run on Sat. Oct. 28 in Fort Dodge. Photos by Sydney Hauser
