“Let’s go Mustangs”

“Come on Stangs”

If you were at the JV football game when they were playing Mid-Prairie these are just some of the cheers coming from the home crowd as they cheered on their Mustangs Monday night.

The Mustangs played a tough game against the Golden Hawks, going back and forth on the lead in the first quarter due to a few fumbles and interceptions. Once Aiden Nosek scored the first touchdown for the Mustangs, it really picked up from there. After the first quarter, the Mustangs defense had a big stop to set up the offense to put one more score on the board before halftime, where they lead the Golden Hawks 27-6.

During halftime the coaches talked about how they were happy with the way the team was playing and that they just had a few things to fix for the last two quarters. After the pep talk, the Mustangs came out ready to play, running the score up to 55-6 and defeating the Golden Hawks.

On defense we were all flying around to the ball and keying to the right players, we just had a few alignment issues and responsibility to work on,” said outside linebacker and running back Parker Hampton.

The coaches were happy with the team after the game, but still said they had work to do.

.“Some kids really stepped up and showed that they were ready to play but we still have a lot to do at practice tomorrow,” said nose guard and offensive lineman Wyatt Stanbro. The JV Mustangs are really improving and hope to have a winning record at the end of the year, “JV football is Crucial to the kids because it gets them ready for the next level which would be varsity, it’s really important that they get fundamentally better and mentally and physically prepared for the next level” said coach Pedersen.
