The Zebras trampled state track competition, with their closest competitors, Dubuque Wahlert, 30 points away. The self-named Mount Vernon-Lisbon team competed at state for the third year in a row. Girls competed in 13 different events. THe 4×800 relay set a new state record of 9:17.72.
Holly Salzbrenner took the title for the 400m hurdles in a new state record time. “I was in awe,” she said.
