By Karissa Benter-The Mount Vernon-Lisbon boys soccer team played hard against DeWitt Thursday, taking many shots but no shots were going in. In the first half, Colby Azinger, of Dewitt scored a goal leaving the score 1-0. With thirty-five minutes left to go of the second half, the refs called the game to a pause due to lightning, later calling the game off. DeWitt won, 1-0.
With just a few games left in the season the boys will be playing their next games Tuesday, May 8,against Beckman at the home game field and again on Friday, May 11, against Independence away and their last game of the season before regionals will be Monday, May 14, against West Liberty away.
