Walking down the halls of school, most likely one will see a wave of scrunchies. The scrunchie trend has taken over the school. It began by students simply purchasing them from a store and has advanced to asking a friend in a sewing class to make one. Junior Becky Edwards has made a plethora of scrunchies for her fellow classmates.
Edwards began making scrunchies for herself in early October when suggested by junior Sammy Moss. Then her friends began requesting Edwards to make them scrunchies. There are now around five students in sewing class that are making scrunchies for others.
To request a scrunchie from Edwards, the student first must pick out a fabric pattern. Then Edwards will get back to the student within one to two weeks with a completed hair tie. Edwards will make special orders upon request.
After seeing the amount of hair ties Edwards sold, she decided to ask The Stable, a store run by the business class, if they would like to sell her scrunchies. They are for sale in The Stable for three dollars and cost Edwards around fifty cents to make, leaving a profit of two dollars and fifty cents for her work.
