Your parents appreciate you. Your coaches appreciate you. The fans appreciate you. The community appreciates you. It was an amazing season together, thank you all so much.
Our team is a close knit family of boys that grew closer together with every single minute spent with each other. Our family fought through many obstacles from injuries, to sickness, to tough losses. We held each other up no matter the situation. We knew that no matter what happens, someone would step up and take care of the situation on and off the court.
To the seniors, I wish you all the best in the future. I am overjoyed to have spent this season with you. However, I regret not getting to know you all sooner. Your work is highly appreciated. Your friendship and leadership will be cherished. The tears shed on Tuesday is proof of how much we loved our team and how we will miss it.
I will always remember the fun we had outside of our games. The dunk attempts from each player will always make me smirk. Every jersey or T-shirt won in free throw games will go down in history. Every McDonald’s trip became more fun, but less healthy, after every win. When Sayre and Trevor played 1 on 1 together the whole team watched to see who would get the nice jersey in the next game. We watched intently, all captivated by the friendly competition.
Thank you to the coaches for bringing leadership and instruction to this family. Thank you for the jokes made and teasing that lightened the mood after a hard practice. The hard practice and the preparation is what made this team successful which is so special.
The wins are amazing and so much fun, but what sticks out to me are the times when we all sat together and laughed, the times we circle up and share stories, or the constant games of euchre we played. Things like the long bus rides home with loud music always topped off the great evenings in a perfect way.
I am so proud of what we accomplished. Coach Timm told us to try to get better every single day and we each did in our own individual way. Thank you all.
