The Academic Decathlon state team, coached by Eric Butikofer, placed fourth in the small school division. Scoring a total of 28, 722.7 points, they placed behind North Tama, Southern Cal, and Grundy Center.
In the Honors Division, Tom Mlynarczyk won 3rd in math, 2nd in economics, and 2nd in interview; Amy Davis was 3rd in speech, 3rd in science, and 3rd in interview. Melissa Grunder took 2nd in interview.
