Traffic issues before and after school at Mount Vernon High School and Middle School cause people frustration and lead to them being late. As most Mount Vernon students may know, there have always been issues with traffic trying to get into school before school and leaving school after school. Some traffic issues include slow moving line of cars, one way in and out of school, line of cars getting backed up to the road, etc. people show up late to school with the issue of the line being backed up so far and only having one way in and out of school so we can only have one line of traffic going each direction limiting how fast cars can get through.

Most students know this all too well. If you don’t beat the rush to school, you’re stuck in a line backed up to the roundabout in the street, and it will take well over 10 minutes to get to school once in the line.

There needs to be another road put in as a quicker route to get more people in and out of the school parking lot faster. This would improve everyone by making things faster and making it easier for people to get in and out, and decreasing the amount of people who come in late due to having to wait in a long line before school.
