In a night filled with laughter, seven of Mount Vernon’s finest young men competed for the honor of being called Mr. MVHS. Cody Burgin won the title, Josh Cannon was runner-up and Connett Croghan won third place and Best Formal Wear.
Video of Cody:
One highlight of the evening was Billy Nichols’ performance of his love song written for Mrs. Massey, with which he nabbed the People’s Choice Award. Tanner Mote’s amazing dance moves brought back “the sprinkler,” and Josh’s Jedi prowess let us all feel “the force”.
Alex Doser and Connett wooed the crowd (and Mrs. Tenley) with their combined piano and singing talent. Alex won “Best Casual Wear.” Cory Brannaman won “Most Talented” for his speech, and Cody rocked the house on electric guitar. Tanner Mote won “Best Q&A,” where we found out that if he had to choose between taking a 12-year-old sister or his parents to prom, well, he said his mother looks pretty good in a dress, so the choice would be easy.
