The Large Group Speech Team is 85 members strong, and one of the biggest teams in Mount Vernon history. Coach Grant Freeman will be taking the team to conference competition in Manchester on Monday. Improvisation is one of the events the team will compete in.
Districts will be held Jan. 15 at Monticello High School, State is Feb. 2 at Cedar Rapids Kennedy, and All State is Feb. 16 at Iowa State University.
Members of the upperclassman improvisation team are David HermsenWhite, Gunnar Hageman, Xander Hunt, Chloe Bunch, Jackson Brus, Alanah Malone, Kayle Fairchild, Eli Webster, Kai Yamanishi, Lance Erickson, and Jasper Rood.
Members of the underclassan Improvisation Team are Rafe Pisarik, Eli Krob, Lily Booth, Kael Dimmer, and Steven Wolfe.
