French fries have been the sidekick of meals at fast food restaurants since World War II. Whether it is waffle fries, curly fries, crinkle fries or straight fries, people love the light golden brown crispy exterior french fries with a soft interior that you can find at most fast food restaurants.

It isn’t fair to rank fast food french fries straight up because of all the different styles of french fries. While some restaurants dominate unique fries and others choose more common fries that have more competition.

The best style of french fries are waffle fries according to a survey that included 106 Mount Vernon highschoolers. The best waffle fries are easily the Chick-Fil-A waffle fries that have been around since 1985. When you think about getting waffle fries on the road you probably think about Chick-Fil-A and their signature Fries. When Mount Vernon High school students were asked what their favorite waffle fries were, 98 out of the 106 students said Chick-Fil-A. With that being said most fast food places don’t sell waffle fries because of the difficult shape leaving Chick-Fil-A with little competition. Chick-Fil-A has some of the best fries with a good ratio of salt and good texture.
