Standing tall at 5’ 10 “, Hudsyn Reyhons is an avid skier at Sundown Mountain and a fantastic skateboarder in Cedar Rapids. Reyhons loves skateboarding with his friends and skiing with his family members as often as he can. Reyhons loves winter above all seasons because of how much he enjoys skiing.
It is currently early September, and Reyhons is skateboarding two to three times per week. He usually goes to Cedar Rapids because the skate park is a lot nicer, bigger, and there is a lot more to do there. He only skates around his home town of Mount Vernon once a week because it isn’t comparable to the CR park, because the CR park is so much bigger and nicer. His most favorite skateboard that he has had so far is the one that he is currently using, it is his Alien Workshop skateboard. He likes this board because it has a lot of pop to it and he likes the shape of it.
Reyhons’ favorite trick to do is a board slide. To do a board slide you have to ollie on a rail and then slide the board over the rail and then land on the other end.
Reyhons has been skateboarding for three years now and has no regrets of getting into skateboarding. Reyhons likes to skateboard with sophomore Xander Dexter-Woodburn, senior Logan Weldon, and Cayden Noehl (MVHS ‘25.)
In winter, when Reyhons can’t skateboard, he is on the slopes of Sundown Mountain skiing with his friends and family. He usually skis with his friend Walker Bilden (MVHS ‘23) , a friend of his for three to four years.
Reyhons has been skiing for about 11 years. Over the years he has gotten really good at skiing and he enjoys it a lot. Reyhon’s best advice for new skiers and beginners is, “Don’t give up, it is pretty hard, but once you get it it is easy.” Reyhons’ favorite stunt in skiing is to grind rails, and catch air on the jumps at the ski parks. He likes these tricks because they are the most fun and interesting to learn. His favorite memory while skiing was when he first hit a rail, it made him very excited because all of his friends and family were there. Reyhons did this stunt at Granite Peak in Wisconsin about two years ago. His favorite skis are his Head Oblivions because they are a good width for big or small mountains. and his favorite boots are his Rossighol boots because they are the comfiest ones he has had so far.
With winter just around the corner Reyhon’s is putting his skateboard away, and is preparing his gear for the ski slopes this winter.
