Starting this fall, the middle school will launch an official soccer team. There will be both boys and girls teams, with 20-25 players expected in each.
“We always want to grow programs that feed into our high school programs,” Matt Thede, the high school athletic director, said. This activity intends to bridge the gap between the elementary and high school levels, create continuity for Mount Vernon soccer players, and give middle school students another activity to choose from.
“I just would have been able to play more, which would have been good for me and the team,” Gavin Plathe commented about his soccer career.
