Mount Vernon Freshman Football lost a yearly rival match up against the Solon Spartans Friday night 28-7.
In the first quarter Mount Vernon prevented Solon from scoring any points.
The second quarter was when Mount Vernon scored their only touchdown of the game with a 1 minute 16 sec left on the clock. The touchdown was scored by Holden Hlavacek. Calvin Crawford then made a good kick to earn Mount Vernon an extra point.
During the 3rd quarter Solon scored 16 points while the Mustangs did not score any.
At the end Solon ended the game by scoring another 6 points.
Mount Vernon plays Mount Pleasant at the MVHS MAC at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27.
