The Powderpuff theme this year was Barbenheimer with the sophomore/ senior team as the Oppenheimers and the freshman/junior team as the Barbies. Oppenheimer won Powderpuff with a score of 20-6.
Quarterback Courtney Franck, a sophomore, ran a 90 yard touchdown in the first half, while opposing team Barbie battled back with a touchdown made by freshman Lucy Wischmeyer in the 2nd half along with an interception made by junior Natalie Thuerauf.
Team Oppenheimer held Barbie to six points the rest of the game. “We didn’t have very much practice but we slayed,” said Sophomore Bella Donatti.
The freshman/ junior Barbies wore pink shirts with a barbie silhouette and “Barbie” in big bold letters while the Sophomore/Senior Oppenheimers wore black shirts with “The opps” written on them and a bomb figure.
Powderpuff is one of the fun activities the high school participates in for homecoming week. The school encourages girls to participate in this game, more so this year considering it was the first game held at the new football field.
