Ryan Gross’s favorite form of transportation is longboarding. 

Ryan, a senior at Mount Vernon High School, catches the eyes of the people with his longboard as he rides any chance he’s got. He rides it to school, work, and around town. 

In the fourth grade Ryan had a friend that gave him that chance. One night he and his friend were just “chilling” as Ryan puts it. Lincoln asked if he skated. Ryan had never skated before that moment. “This felt natural,” Ryan said when asked what he liked about skating. 

After a while Ryan got his own long board. “It felt so much smoother,” Ryan stated. “My favorite part about long boarding is being able to ride around town by myself with headphones while playing music. It’s like my self therapy,” Ryan said.
