Hannah Hall, 18, has been in more vehicular accidents than one should be in. “I’ve been in three accidents,” said Hannah. Her first was was with a family friend.
Hannah and her friend were riding dirt bikes while her other friend was on an ATV. The family friend then thought he could turn in front of her and he crashed into the side of her. Hannah was lucky and came out of the accident with only scratches and some broken fingers.
Her second accident was with Mount Vernon High School graduate, Jared Freese. “If it wasn’t for my seatbelt,” said Hannah “I would be dead.” Jared was driving with Hannah in the passenger seat on a gravel road. They hit some lose gravel and started swerving out of control. “The tires debeaded from the rim,” said Jared, resulting in the vehicle to start to roll. Hannah would tell you that they rolled three times but Jared can’t recall how many times the vehicle viciously rolled.
All Jared could remember after the accident was Hannah yelling at him to wake up outside of the car. “After I regained consciousness I had to crawl out of the car,” said Jared. Neither Jared nor Hannah had any serious injuries in their rollover. Hannah was in a neck brace for two months with glass stuck in her scalp.
The last and “scariest accident,” said Hannah was one early morning while she was on her way to work. “I would consider myself as a good driver,” said Hannah, she just runs into some bad luck more than a young teenager should have.
The morning of her third accident was during the winter on a dark morning. On her way to work she hit a patch of black ice unexpectedly. Swerving out of control, Hannah did the smart thing in this situation. “I didn’t want to roll the vehicle so I took the ditch,” said Hannah. She flew into the ditch and hit a tree on the driver side door.
When Hannah became conscious she was distraught and didn’t know where her phone was. She had to then crawl out of the passenger door with a back that was injured. With no help she crawled through the snow up the ditch on her hands and knees trying to stop someone for help. No one would stop for help and that was one of the scarier things about it said Hannah. Eventually a man stopped and called for help.
During all this her boyfriend was asleep at home knowing nothing until a call came in. Nate, Hannah’s boyfriend, said he was very panicked when he found out. Nate and Hannah’s mom then met Hannah at the hospital. Hannah had some small tissue damage in her back and a scratched up face.
With Hannah’s back injury she had to quit her dance lessons during the time of her recovery. “I never did do dance lessons again,” said Hannah. “I just decided to quit after the accident.
“I don’t go fast on gravel or on corners,” said Hannah “It scares me and I don’t want to get into another accident.”
