While many Iowa schools had difficulty finishing their 2020 yearbooks because in-person school ended in March, the Centaur staff continued to work to get the job done. It paid off with a second place yearbook of the year award at the Iowa High School Press Association Fall Conference held online Oct. 19-22. Nine students also took home individual awards.
The 2020 Mustang Moon staff of journalists won the coveted All Iowa News Team of the Year banner for the first time in MVHS history. News teams were selected in the spring to narrow down a field of 15 that were identified by accumulating points duing the spring journalism contests. Then, judges reviewed the finalists to select the top five performing schools to be honored.
