The sophomore team beats Williamsburg 3-0 Monday, Sept. 23.

The sophomore volleyball team had a good day Monday, Sept. 23. The team played Williamsburg and went 3-0.  Emma Cochrane (‘15) is the new head coach this season.

The teams’ win-loss record is 3-2. The sophomore team has 5 more dates to play until the end of their season.

“We have been doing pretty well at all our weekend tournaments too,” outside hitter Maddie Plotz said, “ and I think spending extra time with the team gives us the chance to bond more.”

While at practice, they occasionally scrimmage the JV team. “It really helps us with communication and playing smart,” said sophomore Kenzie Rentschler. The team often practice serve and serve receive to ensure they can get good in system passes to allow all the hitters to have the opportunity to get a fast swing.

The Mustangs will play next at Clear Creek Amana for their Quad. This has been a very good season for the Sophomore girls’ and they are all excited to finish their season strong.
