For graduated senior and UNI commit Sammy Moss, softball has always been a hobby. She was only an incoming sophomore when she knew this was something she wanted to pursue at the college level. Moss found her perfect fit at the University of Northern Iowa with the softball team. Moss attributes her successes to her parents because they push her to do her best in everything she does and they have always been there for her.

“I really liked the atmosphere and the culture they have on the team,” said Moss about the D1 team. The Sunday before state softball her sophomore year, Moss decided that this was the school for her.

Since then, she has made key plays contributing to the team’s success. Moss leads the team this season with 35 hits, 13 doubles, and two home runs. Moss has also contributed a total of 33 RBI’s this season.

Moss thrives under her favorite part of the game: its competitive atmosphere. “I love how it’s a game of chance,” said Moss. “Anything can happen.”

Moss is studying Exercise Science at the University of Northern Iowa with hopes of becoming a strength and conditioning coach and/or a sports coach.
