The sophomore girls’ volleyball team went on a 4-0 run in their WaMac 2018 volleyball tournament at Mount Vernon High School on Oct. 9. They played the hard competition of South Tama, Benton, Vinton, and Williamsburg. The girls put up a tough fight giving up no sets, meaning they only had to play two out of three, games against all the teams. The goal or purpose of this tournament was for the sophomores to have fun at their final games of the year wrapping up the season.
“The team had a great year together and this final win helped make the year even better, ” said sophomore libero Chiara Blythe. “I can’t wait to watch the varsity girls these upcoming weeks and can’t wait to continue playing next year.” Winning this tournament made Mount Vernon Sophomores the 2018 WaMaC champions.
