For J- Term this year, the Mount Vernon High School Spanish class took a trip to Peru. The class consisted of juniors and seniors at the high school. The students, parents and teachers visited various tourist attractions like Machu Picchu and Lima, which is the capital of Peru. They also went hiking, visited markets, played with children at schools and donated their time giving school supplies to the children at the school. The class toured parts of Peru for a little over a week while they stayed with host families. The students had to use their years of Spanish knowledge to communicate with their host families and strangers they met.
