Keep Schools Safe with Guns

By Cody Ehresman-

If I were to go with the flow and keep guns away from school faculty in or world today, I would be doing our world a great injustice, just as if I were clearing a rugged mangled path into a paved highway only traveled by thieves, druggies, and murderers. I’m not exactly sure what Obama thinks he’s doing right now, but I sure hope he doesn’t clear that path by not allowing guns or better protection in schools.

Allowing school faculty the right to carry, would greatly lower the rate of school shooting and deaths. Others believe that this is a horrible idea, because of the chance of a student taking the firearm from the carrier and using it inappropriately goes way up. The right to carry in places like schools would require much responsibility. Others laws would have to be made in order to appropriately store these firearms in a public school while not in use.

Today there are many options for packing heat in public places, such as holsters, purses, and safes. Safes have made a huge jump in the past decade along with many other things in our world today. Retina scans, biometric, combination, and lock and key safes are all used today and most are very reliable. The biometric safes are the best choice for public schools. The biometric safe reads your fingerprints before opening. They are very hard to break into and have quick and easy access. They also come with fasteners that you could attach to your desk or a nearby cabinet so this case could not be taken. This would be very reliable and safe in schools today.

What would a teacher need to carry a gun, and how much would it cost? Today to legally carry a pistol; which in this case would be the most appropriate firearm for a classroom teacher, you need to be 21 years of age with no felony charges and you must take a class to get your permit to carry and where you would learn to properly hold, aim, shoot, and survey the targets background. Also price-wise, a 9mm pistol, would cost from $200 to $800 and the biometric safe would range from $100 to $400. So your average price range would be around $700 to $1000.

So why would a teacher spend 1000 dollars on something he or she might never have to use? Because these are material things that can be replaced, unlike the life of a student. So ask yourself this Obama! If your loved one was in a school, and that school was attacked by shooters, would you want him/her to have to wait for the authorities to arrive bringing protection? Or would you put your trust into a trained faculty member that could provide protection for your loved one, providing protection from these crazed idiots that are out to kill? That 5, 10, or 15 minutes waiting for the authorities to arrive would be plenty of time for these morons to murder many helpless children and adults.

Stop this violence and tragedy, take a stand. There are two choices here: stand up for the luck of the draw and hope your kid is the lucky one who survived those few minutes waiting for protection or stand up for what is right and give the public schools hope and life. I’m not taking any chances with my life or more importantly anyone else’s. So let’s allow, not only firearms, but protection for schools all around the U.S., let’s put guns in public schools.
