The Mount Vernon Schools had the Festival of Bands Tuesday evening in the high school gym. Bands from the sixth, seventh, and eighth grades performed and so did the high school concert band. Seniors were also honored at the show. The concert band will perform next at State Large Group Music Contest in LaPorte City-Union at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 6.
