The Mount Vernon Choir put on a concert along with the Cornell College and Solon High School Oct. 15. The concert took place in King Chapel, as it has in past years. The choirs performed songs together and on their own.

“We had a day where we went over to Solon and practiced the songs,” said senior Catherine Yeoman. They met up ahead of the concert in order to go over the order of the concert and the songs they had prepared. “It’s nice to see two communities come together to put on a choir concert, even when they can be so competitive,” said Yeoman. The next Mount Vernon Choir concert will be the winter concert second quarter.

Last weekend, the choir had five vocalists selected for All-State: Sam White, Katheryn Opperman, Morgan Houghtaling, Grace Pettinger, and Elijah Recalde.
