MV Places 2nd in Linn-Mar Team Duals Tournament

On January 7, the Mustang Wrestling Team competed in the Linn-Mar Team Duals. Throughout the day, the Mustangs defeated Linn-Mar (49-19), Mediapolis (44-27), CR Xavier (51-21), and Clear Creek Amana (42-26). Mount Vernon ended up getting second place in the tournament after losing to Western Dubuque (16-61) in the finals. Photos by Alyssa Maddocks.

Sophomore Garret Akers (126) wrestles a Linn-Mar opponent on Jan 7. Akers went on to lose the match, 8-18.

Junior Coy Martin (170) defeats his Linn-Mar opponent, 6-3.

Senior Sam Moore (195) wrestles his Xavier opponent. Moore won the match, 13-11.
